Day 8 already and I'm going strong! I searched high and low all day trying to find something to take a picture of. I did icicles. I did an up turned wheel barrel covered in snow in the yard. I did a snow covered bush in the yard. I even did the boots I wore out in the snow. After all that (I've taken more than 100 pictures today :P) guess what I ended up with? Aiden, of course, LOL!

I took over 50 pictures and this is my very first shot. :P I caught a couple of really adorable photos but I was playing with the settings and they were either blurry or too grainy. I'm going to have to buy stock in chocolate if I'm going to do this for a whole year. ;)

I'm really excited to be participating in Project 365 again this year. I totally crashed and burned last year but I am going to try much harder this year! Here's my first photo for P365... I had a rather unwilling subject who I had to bribe with chocolate and even then I couldn't pry the blankie and binkie away from him.

Here I am after a long hiatus from blogging. I admit, blogging is usually pretty low on my list of priorities but I'm going to try harder now. I've decided to give Project 365 a shot again this year. I dismally failed at it last year but I got a shiny new lens for Christmas so I'm going to use P365 as a way to improve my photography skills. I've been studying and I'm excited to apply some of the things that I've learned so far. I still have a long way to go, though.

Anyways, speaking of Christmas... We had a fabulous Christmas this year. This was the first year that Aiden was truly excited for Christmas. It was so awesome to watch him open his presents from Santa. He had a great Christmas morning and got some pretty good gifts from Santa. We spent the rest of the day with my family at my mom's house and we spent the next day with Jeff's family at his parent's house. I woke up on Christmas morning with pink eye in both eyes and was nearly blind most of the day. But, the day improved when I opened my gift from Jeff which was a Snuggie with a 70-300 lens hidden inside. He's lucky I didn't chuck the Snuggie box at him, LOL. Here's a few shots of our Christmas.

Happy almost 4th of July! Does anyone have any big plans for the weekend? Jeff has to work all weekend so I plan on sitting around the house with Aiden. We might go watch some fireworks with Jeff's parents but nothing too exciting. I hope I can take him to the fireworks this year... I think that he will enjoy them a lot more. Last year he didn't care at all and sat in the car pretending to drive the whole time. Today is Fantabulous Friday and I've got some stuffs to share!

Aiden's 3rd Birthday!

I can't believe my little boy is 3 years old already! His birthday was so fun this year. It was the first year he knew what a birthday was. The anticipation of his party was almost too much to handle, bless his heart... It was good leverage to get him to do what I wanted him to do, though. LOL!

I decided that I was going to make and decorate his cake this year. I've never decorated a cake in my life so I was a little nervous. I decided to go with cupcakes because they seemed less intimidating. I think they turned out pretty good considering that I've never decorated anything in frosting before. (Blogger is totally messing with me right now... I can't get the pictures to display right. Click on the to see the whole image. :))

I've been a bad, bad blogger...

And I have a million excuses why, lol. Things were hectic for a couple of months and I've been slacking on a lot of things. Last week I decided that it's time to get my life together. I realized I need to be more organized. Want to know what inspired me? My iPhone, lol. While browsing apps I came across an organizer, downloaded it, and starting putting my to do's in. So far it's working and I feel so much less crazy. Jeff loves it, too... My house is a lot cleaner!

My phone has also inspired me to start dieting again. Ugh, it's not going well so far. I did good for a few days but then Easter came and my nephew's 18th birthday the next day. Today didn't go so hot either with all the left overs, cupcakes, and Easter candy around here. Tomorrow I'm getting back on track! Maybe.

Just got done watching American Idol. And, seriously, folks... I need someone to explain everyone thinks Adam is so great. I am really not getting it, AT ALL. Anoop is totally my favorite but I don't think that he will go much farther. He doesn't seem to be a favorite. Totally stoked for the new season of The Deadliest Catch tonight. I've been waiting forever to see what happened to Phil and if he's coming back. I heart The Deadliest Catch. Those guys are nuts but, wow, they make a crap ton of money for working a few months.

Speaking of which, it's ON! Yes! I have to go and give TDC my full attention.

I have something really exciting to share today! We have a new challenge structure at PGD starting in 2009 with some AMAZING prizes. Check this out!

"We're very excited to unveil our challenge 2009 challenge system! We've come up with a new way to play and we think you're really going to like it!

First, let's talk about prizes...this year we're going to be giving away the biggest challenge prizes around! Each month we will be awarding:

(1) Grand Prize: One challenge participant will win the entire PGD store (personal use products only)! (Yep....all of it, papers, elements, alphas, templates, actions....everything!) Plus the winner will receive a special blinkie to sport around and an exclusive sash (similar to the one on my posts) added to all PGD forum and gallery posts for the following month.

(1) First Runner Up: Our monthly First Runner Up will win a $30 PGD gift certificate to spend any way they choose (personal use products only)! Plus the winner will receive a special blinkie to sport around and an exclusive sash added to all PGD forum and gallery posts for the following month.

What are the challenges?
The Gypsy Girls creative team will be issuing 2 challenges per week (sometimes less, depending on days in the calendar month) here in the forums. The challenges will cover a variety of topics, techniques and supplies. We'll be mixing it up and keeping it fun!

The PGD designers will also be issuing a special template challenge and scraplift challenge each month on the PGD blog.

How do I win prizes?
When you complete a challenge, post the link to your completed challenge layout in the appropriate challenge thread or in the comments section of the blog post (for PGD designer blog challenges only). Each time you complete and link a challenge, you will earn points. Debbie, our fabulous Challenge Coordinator, will be keeping a tally of your points (and posting periodic point total updates) and at the end of the month the highest point earner will win the Grand Prize, 1st & 2nd Runners up will be also be determined based on point totals. In the event of a tie, the tie-breaker will be settled via a "pick a number" format (number will be chosen by a random number generator) and whoever comes closest will be declared the winner. **Important** To earn points for your challenge layout you MUST post the link to the layout either in the appropriate forum thread or in the comments to the corresponding blog post. If you don't link us up before the end of the month, you won't get your points. No exceptions! Your layouts can be posted in the gallery of your choice. When posting to the PGD gallery, please observe our gallery rules...all layouts must include/use at least 1 PGD product.

What are the point values?
Any Gypsy Girl challenge posted in the forums (2 per week) is worth 1 point each.
Any Designer challenge posted on the PGD blog is worth 2 points each.
Bonus Points--you can earn bonus points on any layout by meeting any or all of the following criteria:
Use a PGD product* in your layout = worth 2 bonus points per layout
Use a PGD new release product* in your layout (for the current challenge month) = 4 bonus points per layout
Use products* from 3 different PGD designers in your layout = 6 bonus points per layout
*freebies or free treats are not eligable for earning bonus points

It is possible to earn the completion points and ALL of the bonus points for a single layout!

What's the deadline?
Challenges run from the first day until the last day of the calendar month. You can complete your challenge layouts at any time during the calendar month. All layouts must be linked in the forums or on the blog (where appropriate) no later than 12 p.m. Pacific time on the final day of the month in order to be eligable to earn points. Winners will be announced within 5 days of the challenge month completion."

Be sure to stop in and play... We have some of the best challenge around and for sure the best prizes!

It was a nightmare, I tell ya!

I don't know what we were thinking this afternoon when we decided to take Aiden for a haircut. It should have been an easy, simple task. But alas, twas not. It was a nightmare. Aiden has been getting haircuts since he was 9 months old. In fact, the last cut he had I stayed home. He sat in the chair all by himself while Jeff got his haircut at the same time. Perfect angel....

Today the demon was unleashed. Right off the bat he wanted the cape off. The girl, God bless her, took a swipe with the clippers and all Hell broke loose. Aiden was screaming and pulling the cape. I picked him up and sat in the chair thinking maybe that might help but nope... He wanted nothing to do with the haircut. I should have took him and left when I realized the cape was making him made but at that point it was too late. He had a few good patches on the back of his head shaved off.

We decided it would be best for Jeff to go first so Aiden could see what a good boy Daddy was getting his haircut. He didn't care. The sucker the girl gave him didn't even interest him. Fast forward.... And Aiden's back in the chair. I'm holding his arms down, Jeff is holding his head, and that poor girl is getting kicked. HARD.

I love my sons hair. He has such nice hair. But, after a half an hour of kicking, screaming, struggling... I had it.I told the girl to buzz it. I was done. I wanted to go home. I wanted that poor girl to not have to deal with my brat anymore. I wanted the men waiting to get their hair to have some silence. I feel bad for feeling that way, but... I don't know. It was just bad.

To make matters worse, his hair just looks awful. There are patches and tufts of long hairs. I tried to fix it while he was sleeping but everytime I got the scissors within an inch of he head he would say, "Tickles," and roll over. Sigh. I hate his haircut. I miss his hair. I've had some bad haircuts in my day, and I don't remember feeling this badly about any of them.

To make matters even worse, Aiden went to sleep on the couch at 6:30 tonight. I tried to wake him up before 8 so he would sleep tonight but he pitched another fit. So, about 9 I stuck him in bed. Bout 10 he was up and ready to play. So, it's almost one and here I am. Blogging and playing blocks.

I finally got some motivation this weekend and I actually finished a kit! I'm so excited about it I thought I would give you a little sneek peek... It's gonna be released on Friday so be sure to check it out!

It's been forever since I've blogged. It's been a busy month here and I've been ChaChaing my butt off for some Christmas cash. So, what's new? I gave up on the diet. I worked and worked at it but never lost more than five pounds. Someday I'll do it again. It's just to stressful right now, lol. I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I just finished the 7th one and am waiting for the 8th one to come in at the library. It's killing me to have to wait. I love them! They aren't Twilight but they are great. Ok, it's back to work for me. I still haven't got my house back to normal after Thanksgiving... Shame on me!

So, we've been dieting for over a month now and ya know what? I've lost 5 pounds and have been stuck at the same weight for two weeks. Jeff keeps saying at least your not gaining, but dang... What's the point if I'm not going to loose? I'm tired of not being able to have a decent snack and killing myself with excercise for no reward. I think it's time to reevaluate and find a better diet plan.

I haven't been around the last all that much so I haven't had a chance to share my Halloween pictures. Isn't this the cutest little Buzz you've ever seen?

I have one last thing that I wanted to share today. Something that I am super excited about. You may or may not have read about this at DST but I wanted to post about it here because I really love that I have the opportunity to do this. ChaCha is a great way to earn some extra cash towards, Christmas, bills, or even to buy digital scrapbooking supplies. :) So, what is ChaCha? Simply put, ChaCha is like a search engine but for text messages. What does a ChaCha Guide do? The Guides answer the customers questions at home using the internet. They also have opportunities for open for Expeditors and Transcribers. Basically, they categorize the incoming questions and send them to the Guides. From what I hear it is much faster paced than being a Guide. How much do Guides make? 10-20 cents per question. I know, that doesn't sound like a lot but believe me, it really adds up. Since I started last Sunday, I've earned over 100 dollars. If anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them. You can contact me at amandartracy@sbcglobal.net. It's been awhile since I blogged... Bad blogger! It's just one of those weeks that no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to stay on top of things. It all started with my birthday...

First we went out to a nice dinner with my in laws. Outside the restaurant they have horse and carriage rides, so we took a ride! It was so fun! And of course, Aiden loved it. The horses name was Bart and he kept calling him butt. Then he said "butt's big." Oh, he cracks me up! Aiden went home with Grandma and Papa and we went to a new bar in , which was tons of fun. Of course I had way too much to drink and spent the entire day Sunday laying on the living room floor. I realized by about 4 in the afternoon that I wasn't just massively hung over and that I had caught Aiden's cold. I was so miserable! Thank goodness it only lasted about a day because I am not good at being sick, lol. I like to be babied. I've spent the entire rest of the week trying to get caught up on house work but it just keeps piling up on me. One of these days I'll have a maid. ;)

The diet is not going so well anymore.... My birthday dinner and drinks pretty much put me right back where I was when I started. :( I've worked hard all week and got back down to 1 pound above what I was last Friday. Thank goodness my birthday isn't every week or I wouldn't ever get anywhere! ;)

So, a few weeks ago I submitted one of my layouts to a call at TDS and I just found out yesterday that it was chosen! I just happened by it when I was reading the issue. It was a nice surprise! You can check it out here. My layout is the black one in the bottom left.

One last thing before this turns into a novel, lol. It's Fantabulous Friday and I have some new goodies this week and they are all 30% off today!

I'm the birthday girl!

It's my 28th birthday. Most women stop having birthdays at 29 but I've decided that I'm gonna stop at 28. ;) We had to cancel our train ride today. Aiden is still sick and we have reservations with Jeff's parents at 6 so we wouldn't have time. Kinda bummed about that. I really want to get Aiden some pumpkins. He loves them! If all else fails we can get a couple at Walmart.

My son is the cutest thing in the world. In the past, him giving a hug consisted of him turning his back to you and leaning against you while you hugged him. Well, he has a new way of hugging and I love it! The other night while I was doing stair steps and watching TV he ran over and wanted me to hold him. I picked him up and kept doing my stair steps. He threw his arms around my neck and squeezed and said "circle". Ever since then, when we ask for circle hugs he runs up and throws his arms around your neck and squeezes. I love circle hugs!

My poor little guy has the worst cold. He hardly ever gets sick, so neither one of us know how to handle it. I went to bed at midnight and as soon as m head hit the pillow he woke up screaming. I was up until after 3 with him until Jeff came out and sent me to bed. Of course, as soon as Jeff came out here he went right to sleep. I feel so bad for him... He's miserable. Looks like we may have to cancel our fun day at the pumpkin patch tomorrow.

Ok, so it's not technically my birthday yet. But it's close. My birthday is on Saturday. Well, Jeff decided to go ahead and let me have my birthday presents today since he ordered and bought his own present and it came today. I need to warn everyone before I post the pictures of my presents. Yes, I am one of those crazy, obsessed Twilight chicks. Proud of it. Anyways, here's what I got for my birthday:

And just for good measure... A cute picture of me and Aiden.

We also went shopping today for Aiden's Halloween costume. He saw Buzz Lightyear and had to have it. The freaking thing was 30 bucks. I can't believe it was that much for one of those generic, slip on over your clothes things. Where's my eye rolling smilie?

We also got one of those Pedi-Paw things. I'm deathly afraid to cut the dogs nails, so I decided to give the Pedi-Paw a shot. So far so good. A little scary for me and the dog at first but I think we both got the hang of it and it wasn't that bad.

Now I have to go watch House and maybe do some scrapping!

Phew... What a busy day! I hardly had a minute to myself. Actually, all we did was go grocery shopping but somehow it took all day. Jeff wanted some vanilla beans and some crystallized ginger, so we went to Whole Foods about a half an hour away. Let me tell ya, that store is dangerous!!! First of all, they have samples of everything everywhere! Not a good thing for two hungry people on a diet. We found so much good stuff in there. They had a nice beer selection which pleased Jeff. We ended up spending 82 dollars and all we left with was two bags.

Jeff swore to me up and down that the reason we had to go there was because the local WalMart that we shop at didn't have the vanilla beans or ginger. Well, we went to WalMart to finish our shopping and guess what I found? Yep. Vanilla beans and crystallized ginger. Maybe I should have just looked for them in the first place, lol.

Did you see my ticker down at the bottom? That's right... I've lost 4 pounds! Ok, ok, it's not much but it's a start. It's really not fair because Jeff has lost 8 pounds and he doesn't work nearly as hard as I do. He barely exercises at all. Ah well, what are ya gonna do?

It's just me and Aiden hanging out at home today. Jeff is working the car show with his dad and brothers. Won't be home till late, I suppose. He took my car up there to see if he could sell it also. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! I feel so good today because Aiden slept all night for the first time in I don't know how long. It's amazing what a full nights sleep can do. Now I'm going to mess it all up again because we are going to start painting his closet today and he will have to sleep in my room, which never goes well. Oh well, lol.

I have my second interview at WalMart today but I'm thinking about canceling. Honestly, it's just too much hassle for a seasonal job. They have 3 rounds of interviews. It wasn't this hard to get a job at the casino. I don't really want a job anyways, lol.

I'm feeling rather blah tonight. My neck has been messed up for awhile now and it is driving me crazy tonight. Not to mention my calves are killing me! We walked about 4 miles today and I did an hours worth of stair steps throughout the day. Phew... All this exercise is exhausting! (It's a good thing... I have to keep telling myself that!) I have a layout to share really quick and then I am going to go lay in bed and read New Moon. Yes, again... I lost track of how many times I've read the Twilight series a long time ago. It's day 3 of our diet and things are going great! We've both already lost a little bit... And the best part is that we aren't totally starving. Between snacks and meals we get plenty to eat, which is a good thing. I was so worried to we (okay, me) would be absolutely starving the entire time. We've started walking at night also but the weather isn't cooperating with us on that. Gonna look into a gym membership.

Aiden is so in love with his new room but he has a hard time falling asleep in there. I don't know what it is but he tosses and turns all night. He adores his new bed but wouldn't ya know... He broke the canopy in less than 24 hours. My mom is going to bring me some stuff to see if I can fix it today. The same night he broke the canopy he also colored on the freshly painted walls with black marker. Luckily it came off pretty easy with a blow dryer and some dish soap. I have to remember to hide the crayons now that he's learned the fine art of coloring on my walls and carpet... Carpet is his favorite thing to draw on these days.

Gotta love a good deal!

Last night I decided to check Craig's List to see if I could find a race car bed for Aiden. He is absolutely obsessed with the movie Cars and we painted his room red and blue with racing stripes. The actual Cars race car bed is like 400 bucks so I was looking for used ones. I didn't find a race car bed but I did find a cars toddler bed, a Cars table and chair set, along with a little toy storage bin for 40 bucks! Can you believe that 40 bucks! I was sure that it was going to be gone but I emailed the seller right away. She called me back within the hour and we were able to go pick them up today. I am so in shock that she was selling all of this for 40 dollars.... They are like brand new. Her son never even slept in the bed. We haven't shown Aiden yet because I wanted to get it all set up before he saw it. I can't wait until he wakes up from his nap so I can show him... He's going to freak!!!

I'm so glad that his room is done but we still have to do his closet and I'm not looking forward to that. Everyone looks at me like I'm nuts when I say that but his closet isn't really a closet. To give you an idea how big it is, it was Jeff's brothers bedroom when they were kids. It actually used to be part of the outdoor from porch forever ago... It still has the structure of the porch with the column and arches so it's going to be a bit of a pain to paint.

Ok, one more thing to add and then I am going to go relax before Aiden wakes up from his nap...

We finally finished painting Aiden's room today. And I have to say that it looks awesome! I'll post pictures of it soon. We still have to do some finishing touches on it. We need to put up the border and get some furniture. I can't wait to show you guys!

The countdown to the start of our diet has begun so we're going out tonight to get some good food. I'm hoping to start Monday but I only have 4 days worth of meals planned and I would like to have at least 7 days done before I go grocery shopping. The good news? I've already lost a pound and we haven't even started yet. ;)

Another new blog?

I know, I know... It seems like I always getting a new blog. Yesterday I decided it was time to ditch my design-only blog for a personal and design blog. I wanted a place where I could track my diet progress, share funny stories, and show off my new goodies.:) So, my new blog was born!
